Wood County is home to several universities, colleges, and technical schools. In addition, many more private colleges and state universities are less than an hour away. The area also has a dynamic public school system that enrolls more than 13,000 students.

Wood County Public Schools

The county excels at education from an early age with over 30 Pre-Kindergarten classes. Student enrollment is more than 13,000. According to the WV Education Department, more than 97% of courses are taught by highly-qualified teachers. Wood County has a program to meet student needs whether college-bound or to enter the workforce. Wood County Technical Center and Caperton Center offer career and technical education.
