Schools to Pools 2024
The City of Parkersburg is continuing the Schools to Pools Program for summer 2024. The goal of the program is to help students be more active and lead healthier lifestyles during summer break.
What is Schools to Pools?
The Schools to Pools program provides a free pool pass to elementary school students (Kindergarten through 5th grade) who currently reside in the City of Parkersburg and who are also income eligible (review guidelines here). With this pass, your child will be provided free admission to both the City Park and Southwood Park swimming pools (and slide) for the 2024 pool season.
How to get your Schools to Pools pass
Enrollment begins on Monday, May 13th.
All passes are given out in person at the City Park Park office located at 1920 Park Avenue, inside the Pavilion. Office hours are 7:00 am -11:00 am and 12:00 pm - 3:00 pm.
Required Documentation:
- Documentation that your child was enrolled in elementary school for the 2023-2024 school year - virtual, homeschool, and in-person all qualify. (Report cards work great for documentation.)
- Documentation that your child resides in the City of Parkersburg. You may use a utility bill or the child's most recent report card as form of residential location. If using a utility bill for proof of residency, the name on the statement must match the name of the parent or guardian.
- Income verification form - you may download, print and complete the form ahead of time here or complete this once you arrive at the Park office.
You may have a caregiver accompany the child to pick up an Income Verification Form or submit a utility bill, but the parent or legal guardian must fill out and sign the income verification form.
Pass Details
Every child who is eligible will get a season pass with their name and photo on it to present each time they enter the pool. The pass provided will admit your child into any pool area, waterslides, and Splash Pad.
