The Urban Renewal Authority mitigates blighted conditions in the community to protect the surrounding neighborhoods and encourage future development. The Authority meets as business dictates, following regularly scheduled meetings of City Council.

Petitions/Applications

This application is for the submission of bids for property currently owned by the Urban Renewal Authority. All completed applications will be reviewed by the Authority during their public meetings. Please allow 45 business days for processing and for presentation to the Authority. $50 nonrefundable application fee. Applications submitted for property not currently owned by the Authority will not be accepted.

Property Transfer Opportunities

The Urban Renewal Authority will assist property owners who wish to transfer their building to the Authority for the remediation of blighted structures. This is currently done on a case-by-case basis and interested property owners are encouraged to contact the City of Parkersburg Development Department at (304) 424-8519 for more information.
